From the 14 March to 8 April 2016, Julian Lee & Associates, supported by Great Eastern Financial Advisers (GEFA), proudly organised the inaugural Star Interns Challenge. The competition aimed to unleash the hidden potential of participants as future entrepreneurs. Selected participants went through a 4-week intensive programme which included training by professional speakers and entrepreneurs, and undertaking different levels of team challenges that tapped on the teams' critical thinking skills and creativity and innovative spirits.
7 teams of Polytechnic students came together to compete for the championship. After 3 rounds of competitive challenges, the team from Singapore Poly emerged as Champions, clinching the Grand Prize of $10K. Ngee Ann Poly’s Team clinched the first runner-up, with a cash prize of $2,000 while the team representing Temasek Poly clinched second runner-up, with a cash prize of $1,000.
The purpose of this competition is to foster entrepreneurship to the younger generation and for participants to apply and enhance their skill sets in real life work environment through various challenges in the competition. Participants get maximum exposure to gain valuable learning experience in the financial industry, and help prepare their transition to the real competitive business world. For interns who display excellent performance and potential, this is also a great career opportunity as they may be offered an attractive contract to join the profession in a well-established organisation.
